articles, up-coming anniversaries, fundraisers,
sporting events for the next issue of the BC Elk

favourite place place to holiday that would be
of interest to all Elks?
Are you a snowbird who has found the "best place
on earth" to spend winter?
Do you know an eatery who serves up the best
food, best prices and is worth going to?
Have you found an article that would pertain to
the Elks and you want to share it?
Is your Lodge having the most successful
fundraiser or do you have ideas of such?
The BC Elk

WHITE
ROCK ELKS NO. 431 |
 |
 |
 |
|
White
Rock Elks had the opportunity to do a
promotional campaign for their
children's charities at Wal Mart in
South Surrey on November 12 and 13,
2011. Elks members John Stewart,
Senga Cowie, Kellie Martin, Don Alton
and Cheryl Jorgensen set up a display
table with information regarding the
goals of the Elks Association which is
to fundraise for their main charities,
BC Elks Children's Camps and the BC
Family Hearing Resource Society and also
to support other local children's groups
in the community.
Thanks to
the generous contributions from the Wal
Mart customers, the White Rock Elks
donated several boxes of food to the
local food bank. The cash
donations were equally matched by Wal
Mart to enable the Elks Lodge to deposit
over $200.00 into their charity account.
The
opportunity to promote the Elks
Association and their community services
is greatly appreciated. Thank your
to Wal Mart and the White Rock/South
Surrey residents for their generous
support.

The Osoyoos Elks No. 436
have returned from Kamloops this weekend after
delivering 9300 lbs of apples and pears for the
St. Vincent de Paul Society and the food banks
of Prince George, McBride, MacKenzie, Vanderhoof
and For St. James, BC
The fruit again
this year was donated by Joe and Vera Hilario of

The Elks from
Prince George drove down to meet us at

while we were there in Kamloops, the Lodge put
on a great dinner for us.
The next morning
everyone headed for home knowing that our goal
for 2012 is to surpass the 10,000 lbs mark.
